Upscale grocery store chain The Fresh Market Inc. has signed a deal for its first Nashville store.
Fresh Market has signed a lease within the Lion’s Head Village shopping center on White Bridge Road — near Belle Meade and Green Hills, two of the most affluent neighborhoods in Nashville. To that point, Boyle Investment Co., the developer which owns the shopping center, said in a Wednesday announcement that customers of the shopping center have about $19,000 more in buying power than the average household in the region.
Fresh Market expects to open the store in spring 2017. The grocer will occupy a 23,500-square-foot space vacated by Office Max. A Publix and a Kroger are located within about a half-mile of the site.
This will be Fresh Market’s fourth store in Middle Tennessee, along with locations in Brentwood, Hendersonville and Murfreesboro.
